About Newcomers

Newcomers of Idaho Falls is primarily a social club, designed to provide social opportunities for members to enjoy Idaho Falls and making friends. The following is a list of our monthly events in a normal year.

1st Wednesday - Member Coffee 10:30am
2nd Wednesday - Book Talk 3pm
3rd Wednesday - Board Meeting 2:30pm
3nd Wednesday - Un-Wined 4pm
4th Wednesday - Out to Lunch 11:30am

Monthly coffee events are held in the mornings at members' homes, usually the first Wednesday of each month. Sometimes we feature a speaker on something of interest to our membership - other times it is a social event where we have the opportunity to get to know each other better.

Several times per year our monthly coffee is replaced with another event:

May: Spring Luncheon
July: Annual Picnic
November: Holiday Luncheon
December: Cookie Exchange

Un-Wine'd is held in the afternoon at a local eatery/wine gathering location. An informal event, spouses and other guests are welcome to attend and share a glass of wine (or your favorite beverage) and unwind!

Book club (called Book Talk) is generally held in the afternoon where participants discuss a particular book that has been chosen by the group. A great place to learn and share your views on a wide variety of literature.

Out to Lunch occurs on the fourth Wednesday each month. Members gather at a local restaurant, order their meal of choice and visit over lunch.

In addition to the social aspects of our club, we also support local organizations/charities. One local organization is chosen by our membership each September. Our holiday luncheon, which includes raffle and silent auction items, is used to raise money to fund this donation. We also donate to other charities throughout the year. In recent years we are proud to have donated to; the Children's Program at the Center for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, CASA-Court Appointed Special Advocate, the Senior Center's Meals on Wheels Program and The Haven, along with many other worthy organizations.

Newcomers Donations
Over the years, Newcomers of Idaho Falls has raised money to donate to local charities. We do this at both of our Luncheons with raffles and donations. We thank all our generous members and friends who attend these events and help us give back to our community.
